Dr. Paes is a qualified provider of the Invisalign system, which uses a series of clear, customized aligner trays to gently move the teeth into their ideal position. The dental aligners are made of a comfortable thin plastic and changed out every two weeks until your final results are achieved. Best of all, Invisalign is removable for eating, brushing and flossing. This makes it easy to keep your teeth clean and allows you to eat the foods you enjoy while undergoing orthodontic treatment.
Invisalign Teen
Invisalign Teen uses the same basic methods as Invisalign for adults. In fact, teens can often benefit just as much if not more from this revolutionary solution in clear braces. Adolescence is a time when peer approval and self-esteem are important. With Invisalign, teens don’t have to worry about being embarrassed of metal braces during their high school years. They can eat popcorn at the movies, maintain their oral health and smile confidently for yearbook photos. In addition, Invisalign doesn’t require frequent visits to the orthodontics like traditional braces, which is a valued convenience for active teenagers.
Invisalign and Invisalign Teen deliver the following valued advantages compared to traditional braces:
- Discreet design, virtually invisible
- Removable, easy to keep clean
- Comfortable, no mouth sores or irritations
- Convenient, no need for frequent adjustments
- No food restrictions
- Faster results
How the Invisalign Treatment Process Works
The first step is to confirm that Invisalign is right for you. During an initial consultation, Dr. Paes will carefully evaluate your needs and tell you if Invisalign can effectively address your misalignment concerns.
Next, we will use advanced digital imaging to take measurements of your teeth and gather additional information to create a customized treatment plan. Our software will give you an accurate depiction or “sneak peek” of how the aligners will move your teeth into ideal position over time.
Once the Invisalign lab has fabricated and sent your custom aligners, we will schedule a time for you to pick them up. Invisalign uses a proprietary SmartTrack® material, which makes them smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible. It’ll be your job to wear your clear aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day, removing them for eating and brushing.
While each case is unique, most patients are asked to visit us every four to six weeks so that Dr. Paes can monitor your progress. You’ll be changing out your aligners every one or two weeks according to your treatment plan.
It won’t be long before your final treatment goals are achieved and you can stop wearing your aligners. However, you may want to ask us about wearing retainers to ensure your teeth stay in optimal position. It is also important that you continue to visit us on a routine basis for proper preventive care and cleanings. A beautiful smile is one that is both healthy and straight!
